Mr. Cody Wilson, 25 years old, a law student from the University of Texas bought this 3D Printer on Ebay for exact 8,000 US Dollars. His 3D Printer draws the objects on a supply of heated common plastic, the same way as a regular printer at homes or in offices uses an Ink Cartridge. The technology functions perfectly and Mr Wilson is now working to make the gun printable by a “RepRap” 3D printer, which can be bought for only less than 1,000 Dollars.
Now all they require to do is, tweak minor specifications and they will be good to go. Because the 3D printer is still relatively new, the cost is high, but as more and more people pick these things up, the cost will drive down to the point where anyone can pick one up at Wal-Mart and start making weapons that night at home. it’s the fact that anyone can print this in the comfort of home. This is the first stage of it, which means they can only get better and better.
This 3D Printed gun, the liberator can fire a round and it is undectable to metal detectors, the Liberator (Gun’s name) fires 380 Calibre bullets, consists of 15 printable plastic components and a single metal nail as a firing pin, incredible how technology progresses. This guy in the above video is the first to make a 100% 3d printed weapon that works. May people welcome such options that give them as citizens more control over their own destiny and freedom.
Mr.Cody Wilson told the BBC in his interview: “There is a demand of guns – there just is. There are states all over the world that say you can’t own firearms – and that’s not true anymore. I’m seeing a world where technology says you can pretty much be able to have whatever you want. It’s not up to the political players any more.”
