Skype has now made possible for you to make video calls to Facebook friends, if you have linked your Facebook and Skype accounts together. This is a new free feature and was launched in Skype Beta version for both PCs and MACs.

Since their friendship in July, Facebook and Skype have proved to be great friends. Facebook allowed users to make Skype powered video calls in Facebook and also Skype added instant Facebook chatting feature in it’s software.

However, there wasn’t a way for video calling in Skype. The gap is now filled. Now users can easily call their Facebook buddies right from Skype and need not visit Facebook to have a video chat with their friends.

Today we are thrilled to announce our partnership with Facebook has reached yet another milestone with the launch of Skype 5.4 Beta for Mac and Skype 5.7 Beta for Windows allowing you to conduct a Facebook-to-Facebook call from within Skype. This new development in the Skype-Facebook partnership is the latest example of how Skype is removing communication barriers and making it easier to connect with friends, family and business colleagues. Our approach to social is about personal connections with people. We are on a mission to connect over one billion people and our continued partnership with Facebook brings us one step closer to this goal.” said Rick Osterloh on Skype’s official blog post.

Starting a video call is easy enough. All you need is the latest beta of Skype, where you sign in with your Facebook account and thats it – you’ve enabled video calls with your Facebook friends.

Here’s a promo video of video-calling your Facebook buddies (and family) through Skype.
