How to hide files and folders using CMD command? You can use the following trick to hide your folders and private files. As a result of tis trick your files and folders will not be visible even if you search for them and you can use it as a locker for your files and folders to protect them from unauthorizes access . This can be done only in two steps. All locked files and folders can be made visible again only if you know their names. This two step trick is written below. Just give it a try.

  1.  First Press Windowkey+R : The “Run” command dialog box appears. You can also go to “start” and  click “run” as an alternative.
  2. Then type “cmd” and hit enter. A command prompt window will open up to display.
    Now type attrib +s +h E:\mySecretFolder and hit enter key.
    The folder “mySecretFolder” will be hidden and can not be viewed by any search options available.
  3. To make this folder visible and  to view this again, use the same command as above but only replace ‘+’ with ‘-‘ on both flags ‘s’ and ‘h’. thats it. Enjoy.!!
