World’s youngest IT wizard Arfa Karim , 16 years old, breathed her last at the Combined Military Hospital on Saturday after remaining in coma for 24 days. Arfa’s funeral will be held at 10 a.m, Sunday in Cavalary Ground, Lahore Cantt.
Studying at Lahore Grammar School Paragon Campus in her second year of A Levels, Arfa suffered cardiac ailment after an epileptic seizure on December 22, 2011, and was admitted to Lahore’s CMH in critical condition. Microsoft Corporation Chairman Bill Gates contacted her parents for her treatment in the US. Gates also directed his doctors to adopt every kind of measure for the treatment of young genius. Arfa could not be shifted as she was on a ventilator.
Arfa Karim was born in 1995, and when she was 9 years old got the honor of World’s Youngest Microsoft Certified Professional and Bill Gates invited her to visit Microsoft HQ, in USA.
In 2005, Arfa Kareem received Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal in the field of Science and Technology by the Government of Pakistan, afterwards she was also awarded Salaam Pakistan Youth Award and Presidential Award for Pride of Performance.
